This act—public, unmistakable, and scandalous—goes far beyond mere interreligious dialogue. It presents, to the eyes of the faithful, the image of a priest openly engaging in idolatry, contrary to the First Commandment and to the very identity of a Catholic cleric who has been consecrated to proclaim Christ alone as Lord and Saviour.
